At the ballooning camp, preparations begin just before dawn as the African sky slowly brightens with the first light of sunrise. The crew carefully spreads the massive balloon envelope across the ground while guests gather nearby to watch the fascinating process. Powerful electric fans are then used to cold-inflate the balloon. These fans operate quietly, allowing visitors to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the Mara and even hear distant wildlife sounds in the still morning air.
Once the balloon is fully opened and shaped, the pilot ignites the gas burners to heat the air inside the envelope. As the air warms, the balloon gradually rises upright, glowing softly in the golden morning light. When everything is ready and stable, passengers are invited to step into the basket while it remains grounded. Moments later, the pilot increases the heat, and the balloon gently lifts off the earth, beginning a smooth and silent ascent into the sky for the flight over the plains.
